Project update - September 2024
Construction of Joseph Knox Park Playground is scheduled to start in October 2024.
Conversations with the community have led to a few adjustments to the plan such as:
- Sandstone block placement was adjusted to minimise impacts on tree roots.
- Planting palette updated to include some local native species.
Thank you to everyone who participated.

Where is Joseph Knox Playground?
Located at 10 Burrabogee Road in Pendle Hill, Joseph Knox Park is home to a little neighbourhood playground with plenty of natural shade.
Previous community engagement
Thank you to everyone who told us about their favourite play equipment and shared ideas to improve the playground. You told us:
- Sliding, climbing and swings are your favourite play elements
- Play equipment, shade trees and seating are your main priorities, with footpaths and a bubbler in fourth and fifth place
And some comments:
"Needs at least 3 swings (say a baby swing, a regular swing and a netted circle swing)"
"If there can be a track inside the perimeter of the park for walking, cycling etc to make the whole loop, it will be much appreciated."
All feedback was reviewed and much appreciated. Please note, we have a set budget and there are some things we haven't been able to offer in this makeover.
