Dundas Park Netball Court

---

Court Upgrade Now Completed!

Following community consultation in December 2021, Council developed a concept plan which outlined how the upgrade works will be delivered:

Stage 1: Court surface, fencing and lighting, drinking fountain and pathway

Stage 2: Shelter with seating (subject to funding and delivery of stage 1)

Stage 3: Painting of court surface (to be completed in spring)

These works have now been completed.

Court Access

Community preference around court access was also surveyed.

In response to feedback, Council resolved to implement online bookings and introduce user fees at Dundas Park along with Dunrossil Park and George Kendall Reserve.

The new arrangement for Dundas Park Netball Court will be:

  • Type of use: Netball (winter), Tennis (summer)
  • Operating times: 8am-5pm (winter) & 8pm (summer) (netball may go until 10pm when booked for training)
  • Access Control: A generic pin number is listed on Council's website which provides access during operating hours
  • Bookings: cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au/tennis
  • Fee: $10p/h, netball clubs refer to adopted fees and charges, free when not set up for tennis

Background

City of Parramatta invited community feedback in late 2021 regarding improvements to Dundas Park netball court.

We asked the community how the court is currently used, what you would like to see included in the upgrade, and how you would like Council to manage court access.

The project is due for completion in June 2022 and has been made possible by the Federal Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Fund.

Consultation has now concluded as of 5pm on Thursday 23 December 2021, but you can still check out what is in-scope below, take a look at the possible court layout options in the resources section, and then scroll down for more information in the frequently asked questions.

In-scope

  • Retaining netball functions
  • The court will remain enclosed/fenced
  • Similar to Dunrossil Park in Carlingford, the court could be used for netball in winter and other sports at other times

Out-of-scope

  • Increasing the number of courts or relocation of court
  • Upgrades to the adjoining park space
  • Using the court for sports like basketball or futsal (as the court is bordered by residents)
