Kilpack Park in Darwin St, Carlingford is receiving a major upgrade:

  • Play equipment will be replaced
  • Playground safety surfacing will be replaced with new rubber soft fall
  • Fitness equipment will be installed to diversify park usage and offer something for adults
  • New landscaping is proposed to beautify the park, with low lying areas planted with moisture loving native grasses
  • The pathways will be widened to improve connections between streets
  • Lighting will be upgraded and extended along all pathways to enhance security in the evenings
  • Existing Blue Gum trees will be protected during the changes

Previously Council asked the local community to share ideas and themes for the new play equipment. The plan has now been updated and the proposed play equipment (pictured) will be unique and offer more to challenge older children.

This $1.55m project is proudly funded by the NSW Government's Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program in association with City of Parramatta Council.

The playground has reached the end of its life. Council consulted the community in October 2022 regarding new play equipment and sought NSW Government funding to deliver a major upgrade. Please follow this page for updates.

The playground at Kilpack Park, located on 28 Darwin Street, Carlingford, is a local playground catering to children aged 0 - 12 years old. Right now, the play equipment is predominantly skill-based and sensory.

Currently, the park has:

  • Double swing
  • Basket swing
  • Climbing tower with fruit-shop themed cubby
  • Two slides
  • Spring rocker
  • Vertical spider web climbing net
  • Double seated swing-rocker
  • Picnic shelter
  • Barbecue
  • Perimeter fence
  • Rubber soft-fall
  • Playground equipment
  • Additional shade tree planting in the playground
  • Softfall
  • New bin to replace existing bin
  • New seats to replace existing seats
  • Shade sail
  • Flying foxes or trampolines
  • Water playground or splash pads
  • New location within reserve
