Proposed names
Council has pre-screened (to ensure they meet the NSW Geographical Names Board guidelines) two name options – Bula badhu Park and Sanctuary Park.
-
Bula badhu Park (pronounced BOO-la BA-doo) means “Two Waters” in Dharug, the First Nations language spoken by Traditional Owners, the Baramadagal people. It represents the estuary environment, where two waterways meet and mix in the Parramatta River and is a place of significance to the Baramadagal and the broader Dharug community. Council consulted with Traditional Owners, including Baramadagal Elders, to present this researched option.
