City of Parramatta - Councillor Workshops Policy

The Councillor Workshops Policy provides a framework for the management of Council Workshops.Workshops provide an avenue for Council Staff outside of the formal Council Meetings (i.e. Ordinary or Committee Meetings) to provide to Councillors background information or context to any proposed item by the CEO and/or Lord Mayor.

This Policy applies to all City of Parramatta Council Councillor Workshops; to Councillors and Council Staff; and any invited external presenters and/or consultants of a Councillor Workshop. Workshops are to be held in the absence of the public.

Following a review of community feedback, the City of Parramatta Councillor Workshops Policy was adopted at the Monday 13 May 2024 Council Meeting.

Details of previous public exhibitions

In late 2023, Council invited feedback on the updated draft Councillor Workshops Policy. Submissions were welcomed until 5pm on Tuesday 17 October 2023.

The public exhbition period provided an opportunity to provide comment on the policy directions and the draft provisions before they are implemented.


Re-exhibition of draft Councillor Workshops Policy - Public exhibition now closed

Following the 2023 public exhibition, the draft policy was presented to Council's Policy Review Committee. The Committee recommended a number of additional changes to the draft as put on public exhibition in 2023, to further improve Council's administration of Councillor Workshops. These proposed amendments are presented in the materials under the Resources section.

This second round of public exhibition provided the community with an opportunity to submit feedback on these additional changes.

Submissions were welcomed until 5pm on Wednesday 1 May 2024.
