Council resolution
Following public exhibition of the Draft Code of Meeting Practice 2026 in late 2025 and early 2026, a report was prepared for consideration by Council seeking adoption of the updated document. The updated Code of Meeting Practice 2026 was adopted by the City of Parramatta at the 9 March 2026 Council Meeting. Thank you again to everyone that participated.
What is the Code of Meeting Practice?
The Code of Meeting Practice applies to all meetings of Council and committees of Council (of which all the members are Councillors).
It sets standards and provides guidance around how meetings should be held, including the organisation of meetings, conduct during meetings (such as rules of debate, confidential matters, time limits on meetings, order of business and voting) and requirements after meetings. Public exhibition - Now closed
The City of Parramatta draft Code of Meeting Practice 2025 was on public exhibition from late 2025 until early 2026. Submissions were welcome until 5pm on Friday 13 February 2026.
