Connecting Granville Centres

December 2024 - Project update

The City of Parramatta, in partnership with the NSW Government, is set to commence the Good Street public domain upgrade as part of the Connecting Granville project. The works will improve the western side of Good Street (between Parramatta Road and Victoria Street) and the eastern side (between Parramatta Road and McGill Lane), featuring granite paving, pedestrian kerb ramp upgrades, and new tree planting.

Construction is scheduled to begin the week of 13 January 2025 and will take approximately four weeks, subject to weather conditions. Work will occur Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm and 8pm to 5am, in line with TfNSW approval and conditions.

Project background

Granville has been identified as a high growth precinct in the City of Parramatta’s Community Infrastructure Strategy (CIS), with an estimated increase in population from 5,600 in 2019 to 24,800 by 2041.

The Connecting Granville Centres project aims to increase accessibility and amenity for pedestrians by providing connections to key landmarks on the northern side of Granville including:

  • Good and Bridge Street
  • The future Granville Town Square site
  • F.S. Garside Park
  • The M4 underpass (Central City Parkway)
  • Pedestrian path to Parramatta CBD

This project is being delivered under Council's Better Neighbourhood Program.
