Project update

January 2025

Work is scheduled to begin during the week commencing 28 January 2025 and will take approximately 14 weeks to complete, subject to weather conditions.

Work includes replacement of the existing play equipment, park benches, softfall and landscaping throughout.

Work will take place Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm and from 8am to 1pm on Saturday.

Project Background

In mid-2024, Council exhibited a draft concept plan for the proposed playground upgrade. Submissions were welcome until 5pm on Monday 10 June 2024. Thank you to everyone that provided feedback.

Council officers are now reviewing all submissions and will make changes as required to the draft concept plan.

Landscape plan for new playground

The proposed update includes:

  • rubber soft fall surfacing
  • climbing play elements with overhead ladders
  • play tower with climbing elements, slide and imaginative play
  • triple swing with toddler and nest seats
  • proposed seat with back and arm rest
  • new bin unit (location to be determined)
  • proposed medium sized native trees for shade
  • new park signage

In addition, the existing, disused garden bed will be planted with semi mature trees, with a boulder as a seating element.

The picnic table will be retained and repainted and the paths cleaned and repaired.

Where is the playground located?

The playground is located in Armagh Park, Constitution Hill.
