Wentworth Point Gateway

Project background

Council is preparing to install a key gateway landmark on the corner of Hill Road and Bennelong Parkway in Wentworth Point.

The gateway was identified in the adopted Hill Road Master Plan as a means of enhancing the arrival experience and identity of the area.

The draft design of the gateway includes the suburb name, and the word ‘Welcome’ in English, Dharug, Korean and Chinese. English, Korean and Chinese are the top languages spoken in Wentworth Point. Dharug is the language spoken by the Traditional Owners of this land.

  • The sign is approximately 13m long and 1.7m tall.
  • It will be made from a mixture of aluminium or timber batten which will sit on a concrete blade wall.
  • The stainless-steel letters of the suburb name will be affixed to the front of the battens.
  • There are no identified impacts on residences or existing community infrastructure.
