  • Southbound One-Way Plan Not Supported; Consultation on Northbound Alternative coming soon

Council sought community feedback in July - August 2025 on making Trott Street, North Parramatta a southbound one-way street to improve traffic and safety.
Council received 53 submissions, with 23% in support, 8% partially in support, and 62% opposing the proposal.
Community feedback highlighted concerns about through traffic using Trott Street in the southbound direction and the lengthy detour routes that local residents would face if the restriction were implemented.
Please note that the original proposal was initiated due to concerns about pedestrian safety for students walking to and from Parramatta North Public School at the intersection of Trott Street and Albert Street. The intent of the one-way restriction was to reduce conflicting movements along two key pedestrian routes.
In light of the feedback received, Council will soon consult with residents and local businesses on a revised proposal for a one-way (northbound) restriction on Trott Street between Harold Street and Albert Street, North Parramatta.
