With $9.4 million in funding secured from the NSW Government, construction commenced in November 2023, and is expected to be completed in late 2024.

Parking surveys have shown of the 120 spaces available in this area, only 40-50 are used during the day and night, with all houses on Ferndale Close having ample off-street parking and side streets also having excess capacity.

A detailed environmental assessment has guided the location of the bridge over Toongabbie Creek and the approaching boardwalk to ensure high value trees are retained.

The project secured 100% grant funding from the NSW Government’s Get NSW Active program.
