Roxy Theatre Update

The Roxy Theatre DA/375/2024

City of Parramatta Council has received a development application (DA) from the owner of 69 George Street, Parramatta (The Roxy Theatre). The exhibition period commenced on Tuesday 6 August for 28 days.

To view the development application, please visit Council's DA Tracker by following these steps:

1. On the City of Parramatta Council home page, select ‘Development’
2. Select ‘DA Tracker’(in the far left hand column)
3. Select ‘lodged after 1 July 2024'
4. Then search by DA number (DA/375/2024)
5. Click on the DA number when it appears
6. Scroll down to ‘Documents’ and wait until the links appear (they will take a moment to load).

Application summary

The Development Application describes the partial demolition of, and alterations and additions to, an existing state listed heritage item (the Roxy Theatre) and its use for cafés (including outdoor seating areas) bars, restaurant and auditorium (stage, backstage facilities and seating). The development will include licensed premises, and is also ‘Nominated Integrated Development’ under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (section 4.46 and Schedule 1, Division 2, Clause 8A) as approval is required from Heritage NSW in accordance with the Heritage Act 1977.
