Active transport and signage options along the Homebush Bay Circuit (HBC)
In earlier community consultations, you told us that better lighting, street furniture and reduced interaction with vehicles would enhance the experience of visiting the HBC area. Respondents wanted improvements that made it safe for both pedestrians and cyclists to enjoy the Circuit.
In August 2018, we asked for your feedback on the HBC Wayfinding Strategy and Masterplan Draft, which outlines how infrastructure, physical signage and digital maps can be used to improve safety along the Circuit, to see if we got things right.
Thank you to everyone who contributed their thoughts on the Masterplan Draft. A majority of respondents told us that the upgrade is very important. We heard that safety for all users of the Circuit was a key concern, especially for pedestrians and cyclists of all abilities, along with the preservation of the natural environment and minimising of environmental impacts.
It is expected that the implementation of this plan will be staged over a 15-year period as funds become available.
