What is the Code of Meeting Practice?
The Code of Meeting Practice applies to all meetings of Council and committees of Council (of which all the members are Councillors).
It sets standards and provides guidance around how meetings should be held, including the organisation of meetings, conduct during meetings (such as rules of debate, confidential matters, time limits on meetings, order of business and voting) and requirements after meetings. You can find the full draft City of Parramatta Code of Meeting Practice in the resources section and also learn more about the key proposed changes.
Public exhibition now closed
In mid-2024, Council exhibited its draft Code of Meeting Practice. Submissions were welcome until 5pm on Tuesday 16 July 2024.
Council officers are now reviewing all submissions ahead of a report being prepared for consideration at a future Council Meeting.
