The section of Midson Road at Grant Close, near West Epping Park, is a well-used crossing point for both park visitors and members of the West Epping Public School community. Although a raised flat-top speed hump is currently in place to reduce vehicle speeds at the intersection, increased traffic and pedestrian activity over time has highlighted the need for enhanced safety measures. To address this, Council is proposing to remove the existing flat-top speed hump and install a raised pedestrian crossing on Midson Road near Grant Close, with the aim of improving safety and supporting the well-being of the local community.
The installation of this pedestrian crossing will not result in any loss of on-street parking space.
If there are no substantial objections to the proposal and it receives approvals from all relevant bodies, such as the Local Traffic Forum and Council, the construction work for this raised pedestrian crossing is expected to take place in mid-late 2026. You can FOLLOW this page for updates.
