Building Back Better Together

---

What changes do you want to see in your community to help Parramatta?

Parramatta communities have responded positively despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Communities have come together to support each other. Did you or someone you know do something great for the community, making life that little bit easier or just making you smile during COVID? Have you had new ideas about what you want for your community’s future?

Join the conversation!

We asked the community to share stories, great initiatives and ideas to help our community cope and recover. If you missed out, reach out to share your story of a great initiative via email ccb@cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au or ask for a Communication Capacity Building Officer when you call Council on (02) 9806 5050.

The community vision board has now closed as of 9am on Friday 18 December 2020.

To see what the community recommended, see the vision board in the document libraray to the left of this page.

What is Building Back Better?

Building Back Better is a global concept of community resilience and recovery. It encourages communities to build on their strengths and to be better prepared to take action in response to challenges in their local community.

Council’s Community Capacity Building Team is applying this concept to recognise the contributions of local communities to recovery and to provide a platform for new ideas.

We recognise that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought an opportunity to adapt and improve on ways of doing things.

Our aim is to:

  • Map community support networks and celebrate the Parramatta community’s response to COVID-19,
  • Host in-depth community conversations to explore your vision, and
  • Support new and existing community projects to bring your vision to life!
