Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a current MPS Permit and need to park all day within the CBD, Council encourages you to use an off-street carpark such as one of the following Council carparks:

  • Parramatta Station Carpark accessed from Wentworth Street
  • Justice Precinct Carpark accessed from Hunter Street west of O’Connell Street

No. Only the part of a sign which says ‘1P Ticket 8am-6pm Mon-Fri’ will be changed to ‘1/2P Ticket 8am-6pm Mon-Fri’. The rest of the sign will generally stay the same and still allow the public to park for up to two hours on weekdays from 6pm to 8pm and 8am to 8pm on Saturdays if the current signs permit this.

There are no changes proposed to other parking restrictions including ‘Loading Zones’ and ‘P Disability Only’ parking spots within the CBD at this stage.

If you have a MPS Permit, you are entitled to the following concessions:

Furthermore, permit holders can park in metered, coupon or ticket parking areas at no charge in Council and on-street parking areas.

The Parramatta Traffic Committee and Council will consider the responses to this consultation prior to determining the matter.
