Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

The Better Neighbourhood Program (BNP) is a long-running and successful Council program that focuses on the capital upgrades of local centres outside of the Parramatta CBD. $240,000 has been allocated to the Stamford Avenue shops in Ermington to deliver improvements with the goal of enhancing safety, vitality and economic prosperity.

In-scope items include things such as:

  • New paving
  • Accessibility upgrades including walking paths
  • Consideration of improvements to adjoining streetscape
  • Landscaping
  • Additional off-street car parking spaces
  • Shopfront façade improvements (these need to be pursued by the landowner or tenants. Council will advocate for this and provide resources)

Following this Stage 1 consultation, a draft plan will be exhibited offering another opportunity for feedback before the final plan is presented to Council. The project aims to be completed by the end of June 2023, but will be delivered earlier if possible.
