Council is looking to upgrade the River Park playground located of Arista Way in Ermington, and we want your help in deciding the new playground equipment that should be included.
Located in close proximity, Halvorsen Park and George Kendall Riverside Park also provide the local community with other playground options.
To create a point of difference for the playground at River Park, a learn to ride theme has been proposed. An emphasis on sliding, spinning and rocking elements has also been identified to further differentiate from nearby playgrounds.
The current playground at River Park is surrounded by existing shade trees which Council is looking to retain. Given the site constraints, including the road on the northern side and existing cycleway on the southern side, the upgraded playground will be built in the same location.
The proposed upgrade will also include:
- A new playground access path
- Replacement of the rubber softfall
- Replacement of the fully enclosed fence (retaining two entry/exit points)
- Retention of the existing playground bin
- Replacement of the two existing benches with new benches with backrests
