If you are a long-standing community panel member using PARTICIPATE PARRAMATTA for the first time, you can enter the email address we use to contact you, click forgot your password and then follow the prompts.

Our members

PARTICIPATE PARRAMATTA is made up of residents, workers, visitors, business owners and students who care about our community.

We want membership of this site to grow and be truly representative of our community's diversity, and for members to have the ultimate control over their information, and the way they participate.

It is free to sign up and you will receive emails when topics are coming up for discussion. You will learn when and where you can take part in online and in-person surveys and receive invitations to join workshops, events and public meetings.

We are also committed to Council's Privacy Policy and to protecting your information.

Who can join?

You are eligible to become a member if you are 16 years of age or older, and a:

  • Resident – someone who lives within the Parramatta Local Government Area (LGA).
  • Business owner – someone who owns or operates a business or social enterprise within the Parramatta LGA.
  • Worker – someone who undertakes paid work within the Parramatta LGA.
  • Volunteer – anyone who undertakes voluntary work within the Parramatta LGA.
  • Student – anyone who attends an educational institution within the Parramatta LGA.
  • Visitor – someone who lives outside the Parramatta LGA and has visited in the last 12 months for any reason, such as to shop, dine, stay, or attend a sporting or cultural event.

Our commitment

The City of Parramatta Community Engagement Strategy (2022-24) details how we will engage with you and how you can have a say on projects that matter to you.

The Strategy incorporates Community Participation Plan Requirements under the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 (the EP&A Act) which states how and when local councils engage the community about planning functions like policy-making and assessment.

You can also find the Consolidated Development Application Notification Requirements as an appendix within the Strategy.

Frequently asked questions

There are many benefits of registering on the Participate Parramatta platform. For example:

  • You will be able to set and update your own password and profile!
  • Auto-fill demographic information such as age, suburb and so on making responding to surveys quicker!
  • Follow up on projects that interest you or set preferences to make sure you stay in the loop.
  • Look back and review the feedback and activities you have participated in on the site.

If you would like to participate in an activity or give feedback on a project on this website (Participate Parramatta) you may need to either log in as a member or join to become a member of the platform.

This will help Council to better understand the demographics of who is providing feedback and will ensure that the feedback which is being used to help inform decisions is genuine and reliable.

To join Participate Parramatta, navigate to the top right-hand corner of this page and click on the Join" button.

Once you’ve click on the “Join” button, you will be directed to a registration form asking you some brief questions.

To log in to Participate Parramatta, navigate to the top right-hand corner of this page and click on the ‘Loginbutton.

Once you’ve clicked on the “Login” button, you will be asked to provide your username or email plus your password.

Your username should be simple and memorable. However, we recommend avoiding the usage of any personally identifiable information when creating your username. This includes your first or last name or your birth date. Use a variation of your name that is easy for you to remember but difficult for others to recognise as associated with you.

Your username is the only piece of personal information that will be public for collaborative activities. For example, if you post an idea on a vision board or drop a pin on an interactive map, your username will show at the top of your post.

We understand that in addition to residents, that other groups including workers, visitors, investors and service providers are interested in having their say.

In the registration form, let us know how you describe your relationship with the City of Parramatta.

To update your password, simply login to Participate Parramatta.

Navigate to “My Profile” and click on “Edit Profile”.

Once you are on your profile, scroll to the bottom of the page and follow the ‘Change password’ instructions.

We highly recommend you use a range of numbers and letters and not to use a name or date of birth.

The next time you login, you will need to use your new password.

If you have forgotten your password, click ‘Login’.

When you try and login there will be an option to click ‘Forgot your password'?

Click ‘Forgot your password?’ and follow the prompts to provide your email.

Make sure you check your junk inbox and wait up to 1-hour before trying again.

Once you receive the email to reset your password, follow the instructions.

To update your profile details, simply login to Participate Parramatta.

Navigate to “My Profile” and click on “Edit Profile”.

Once you are on your profile page, simply click ‘edit’ and scroll through the page to edit your details.

Make sure that you double check the details and then save.

The supply of personal information by you is voluntary. The registration form will ask you to include personal details.

The only required details for membership are:

  • Username
  • Email
  • Password
  • Agreement to the privacy policy

However, providing additional demographic information helps to ensure that Council is hearing from a diverse cross-section of the community.

Any personal information collected can be accessed by you and may also be available to third parties in accordance with Council's Access to Information Policy.

Council will not share your personal information with any third-party provider.

Whilst we highly recommend you provide feedback and participate in the activities on the platform, you can also provide feedback via email and post if you prefer.

Becoming a member of the platform only requires:

  • Username
  • Email
  • Password
  • Agreement to the privacy policy

If you still wish to provide feedback but do not want to join/log in, please contact the project team via the details on the project page.

Ensure you clearly state the project and what comments/question you have in the correspondence.
